Pap Smear

It is a test that is carried out to check for symptoms of cervical cancer using sample cells from the cervix.

For the Pap-smear test, a small brush is used gently to collect sample cells from the cervical area and observed under a microscope to spot the cell changes.

The pap-smear test is absolutely painless and it is recommended to administer a pap-smear test within an interval of 3 years for women falling under the age group of 21-65. The whole examination procedure and collecting the samples merely would take 10-20 minutes.

The tests also help in providing significant clues in detecting or at least give a clue to the presence of STIs such as trichomoniasis, Candida, Actinomyces, herpes simplex virus (HSV), cytomegalovirus, and human papillomavirus (HPV).
